Biomechanics Behind Predictable Vertical Control

A 4-hour intensive orthodontic workshop focused on the diagnosis and biomechanical control of the vertical dimension. Participants will learn how to accurately assess vertical discrepancies and apply predictable biomechanical strategies to optimize function, long-term stability, and facial esthetics. The workshop includes a dedicated hands-on training session in collaboration with Electrodont, where participants will practice: • Utility arch mechanics for vertical control • Burstone three-piece intrusion systems • Step-by-step wire bending and activation protocols • Clinical application of intrusion mechanics in different vertical growth patterns This practical session enables participants to directly apply biomechanical principles under guided supervision, ensuring immediate and predictable clinical implementation.

Aligners have transformed modern orthodontics, yet their biological and biomechanical limitations remain insufficiently discussed. Where is the boundary between virtual predictability and biological reality? This workshop proposes a pragmatic approach to the discrepancy between digital planning and the actual clinical outcome. We will analyze the reasons why digital treatment plans with aligners sometimes fail, with a particular focus on skeletal anchorage control. Intensive hands-on component The workshop includes a practical session designed to highlight the importance of hybrid treatment approaches. Participants will explore how elements of conventional orthodontics can be strategically integrated into aligner therapy through: - integration of a bracket segment and activation of the orthodontic archwire - placement of a mini-screw to optimize biomechanical control If you would like to integrate predictable biomechanical solutions into your daily practice and approach hybrid aligner therapy with greater confidence, this workshop is for you.
